Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 12, 2026
1. Scope and General Provisions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the MAISON ADAMO online store and the purchase of products offered on it. By placing an order with MAISON ADAMO, the customer agrees to these Terms. These Terms apply to all sales made through the MAISON ADAMO website and do not affect the customer’s mandatory statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law, which take precedence over any conflicting provision of these Terms.
2. Seller Identification
MAISON ADAMO
Tax Identification Number: 323617468
Country: Portugal
Full seller identification details are available on the Legal Information page. For questions, contact hello@maisonadamo.eu (general enquiries) or orders@maisonadamo.eu (order enquiries).
3. Products
MAISON ADAMO offers a curated range of bags, crafted in Italy for MAISON ADAMO. Product descriptions, dimensions, materials and construction details are provided on each product page and form part of the information available to the customer prior to purchase.
4. Natural Characteristics of Leather
Products are made, where specified in the product description, from genuine washed calf leather. Genuine leather is a natural material and may present variations in grain, texture, tone, natural markings and subtle creasing, and may develop patina with use over time. These characteristics are inherent to the material and are not, by themselves, considered manufacturing defects. This Section does not limit or exclude any statutory right relating to a genuine manufacturing defect or a lack of conformity of the goods with the contract.
These natural characteristics are distinct from damage, staining, odour, deformation or other deterioration arising after delivery, which is addressed in Section 32 (Genuine Defects, Non-Conformity and Customer-Caused Damage) below.
5. Product Images and Variation
Product photography is intended to represent the model, design and materials of each piece. Because each piece is individually crafted and leather is a natural material, the customer’s piece may present natural variation and may not be visually identical in every detail to the piece shown in photographs. This is consistent with the nature of the product and does not, by itself, constitute non-conformity.
6. Prices and Currency
Prices are displayed in Euro (€) and include any applicable taxes required to be shown at the point of sale, unless stated otherwise. Prices may be updated from time to time; the price applicable to an order is the price displayed at the time the order is placed. Where a product does not yet have a published price (“Price on request”), that product is not available for purchase until a price has been confirmed.
7. Orders
Orders are placed through the MAISON ADAMO website. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the information provided when placing an order is accurate and complete.
MAISON ADAMO limits purchases of each specific product — a given model in a given colour and hardware combination — to a maximum of one unit per order. A different colour or hardware combination of the same model may be ordered separately, within the same order. This limit is a purchase policy intended to support the considered, individual character of each piece; it is not a statement about stock availability or inventory quantities.
8. Order Acceptance and Formation of Contract
An order constitutes an offer by the customer to purchase the selected product(s). A contract is only formed once MAISON ADAMO has accepted the order, which will normally be confirmed to the customer in writing. MAISON ADAMO may decline or cancel an order, in whole or in part, where a product is unavailable, where an error in the listed price or description is identified, or for other legitimate reasons, in which case any amount already paid will be refunded.
9. Payment
Payment is processed securely through MAISON ADAMO’s checkout, hosted by Shopify. The payment methods available depend on the customer’s destination and the options enabled at checkout.
10. Collection and Production
MAISON ADAMO’s collection is designed for MAISON ADAMO and crafted in Italy. Each piece is manufactured and exists as a finished, individually crafted good before it is ordered by the customer; production of the collection does not begin after, or because of, an individual customer order.
MAISON ADAMO’s current standard catalogue models, colours and hardware combinations are not personalised or bespoke goods, and are not excluded from the right of withdrawal on that basis. See Section 14 (Right of Withdrawal) below.
11. Final Quality Check Before Dispatch
Every MAISON ADAMO piece undergoes a Final Quality Check before dispatch and its condition is documented.
12. Dispatch and Delivery
Once an order is placed, the piece undergoes a Final Quality Check and is prepared for dispatch. Orders are prepared and dispatched within 2–3 business days. Delivery is available to selected destinations worldwide, subject to availability by destination. Estimated delivery time after dispatch depends on the destination and the delivery service selected at checkout. Shipping costs are calculated and presented at checkout. MAISON ADAMO does not offer free shipping unless expressly stated at checkout for a specific promotion.
13. International Delivery, Duties, Customs and Return to Origin
Orders delivered outside the European Union may be subject to import duties, taxes, customs clearance fees and other charges imposed by the destination country. Such charges are not included in the product price or shipping fee and are the sole responsibility of the recipient. MAISON ADAMO does not pay or reimburse such charges on behalf of the customer.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that all delivery information supplied with the order is accurate and complete and for providing any information or documentation reasonably required by the carrier or competent authorities for customs clearance.
An order may be returned to origin where delivery or customs clearance cannot be completed for reasons attributable to the recipient, including but not limited to:
(a) failure to provide required customs information or documentation within the requested timeframe;
(b) refusal to pay applicable import duties, taxes or customs charges;
(c) the recipient being unreachable, refusing delivery or failing to collect the parcel within the carrier’s applicable timeframe; or
(d) an incorrect, incomplete or unlocatable delivery address supplied with the order.
Where an order is returned to MAISON ADAMO for any of the circumstances described above, associated shipping costs will not be refunded.
Refusal of delivery, failure to collect an order or refusal to pay applicable import charges does not, by itself, constitute or replace a return request or exercise of the right of withdrawal in accordance with the applicable MAISON ADAMO return procedure.
Where the order is successfully returned to MAISON ADAMO, any refund due will be processed after the returned item has been received and has completed the applicable Return Quality Control.
Where an order is seized, abandoned, destroyed or otherwise retained by customs or another competent authority and cannot be returned to MAISON ADAMO as a consequence of the recipient’s failure to pay applicable import charges or provide required customs information or documentation, MAISON ADAMO may be unable to issue a refund for the order.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
14. Right of Withdrawal
Where the customer qualifies as a consumer under applicable law and the purchase is made at a distance, the customer benefits from a statutory right to withdraw from the contract without giving any reason, within 14 days, in accordance with applicable consumer protection law. The withdrawal period runs from the day on which the customer, or a third party indicated by the customer, takes physical possession of the goods.
To exercise this right, the customer must inform MAISON ADAMO of the decision to withdraw by an unequivocal statement (for example, by email to orders@maisonadamo.eu) before the withdrawal period expires. A model withdrawal form is set out in Section 15 below and may optionally be used for this purpose. The piece must then be sent back without undue delay and, in any event, within 14 days of communicating the decision to withdraw, in accordance with Sections 16–20 below.
Certain goods may be excluded from the right of withdrawal only where such an exclusion is genuinely permitted under applicable law — for example, goods made to the consumer’s own specifications or clearly personalised for them. MAISON ADAMO’s current standard catalogue products are not personalised or bespoke goods and are not excluded from the right of withdrawal on that basis.
15. Model Withdrawal Form
This form should only be completed and sent if the customer wishes to withdraw from the contract.

16. Return Condition
MAISON ADAMO sells new pieces. MAISON ADAMO accepts eligible returns and exchanges only for pieces returned in a new, unworn and unused condition, with no signs of wear, use, damage or alteration from the condition in which they were dispatched.
17. Inspection Is Not Use
The piece may be handled only to the extent reasonably necessary for inspection, comparable to an examination in a physical store. Wearing or using the piece beyond such inspection may make it ineligible under the MAISON ADAMO return or exchange policy. The statutory withdrawal period referred to in Section 14 is not a period during which the piece may be worn or used.
18. Security Seal
The MAISON ADAMO security seal must remain attached, intact and unaltered throughout inspection and return. Please do not remove, cut, replace, alter or tamper with the security seal if you intend to return or exchange your piece.
19. Complete Return
The piece must be returned with all items originally supplied with it, where applicable, including the dust bag, detachable strap, accessories, documentation, security seal and any other accompanying items.
20. Return Packaging
Please retain the packaging supplied with your order until you are certain that you wish to keep your piece. Returned or exchanged pieces must be securely protected and packaged for transport. Where the packaging supplied with the order remains suitable for safe reuse, the piece and its accompanying items should be returned using that packaging.
21. Strict Return Quality Control
Every returned or exchanged piece undergoes a strict Return Quality Control upon receipt by MAISON ADAMO. During Return Quality Control, the returned piece may be compared with the condition documented before its Final Quality Check and dispatch (Section 11), including its leather, hardware, handles, corners, base, interior, lining, accessories, security seal and overall condition.
22. Return May Be Refused
If a returned piece does not satisfy the applicable return conditions set out in Sections 16–20 following Return Quality Control, including where it shows signs of wear, use, customer-caused damage or alteration from its documented pre-dispatch condition, MAISON ADAMO may refuse the return and send the piece back to the customer, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
23. Legal Reservation
MAISON ADAMO reserves all rights and remedies available under applicable law in relation to returned pieces that do not meet our return conditions.
24. Refused Return
If a return is refused following Return Quality Control, the customer will be informed and the piece may be returned to the customer. Any applicable costs associated with returning the piece to the customer will be communicated before shipment.
25. Return Shipping Costs
For ordinary change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the piece to MAISON ADAMO. MAISON ADAMO does not provide free return shipping for change-of-mind returns.
26. Tracked Return Shipping
MAISON ADAMO strongly recommends using a tracked return service and retaining proof of shipment until the return or exchange has been completed.
27. Voluntary Exchanges
A customer may request a voluntary exchange of an original piece for another available colour, variation, or a different model. To be eligible for a voluntary exchange, the original piece must be returned to MAISON ADAMO at the customer’s own expense and must successfully complete Return Quality Control. The piece must be returned in its original condition: unworn, unused, undamaged and clean, with no stains, odours, scratches, deformation or other signs of use, and together with the complete original set, packaging, tags, seals and accessories supplied with it. Where the original piece does not successfully complete Return Quality Control, MAISON ADAMO may decline the exchange and proceed in accordance with Sections 22–24 above.
This voluntary exchange policy is separate from, and does not limit or restrict, the customer’s mandatory statutory right of withdrawal described in Section 14 above.
28. Return Shipping For An Exchange
The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the original piece to MAISON ADAMO for a voluntary exchange. MAISON ADAMO does not provide free return shipping for a voluntary exchange.
29. Exchange Price Adjustment
Once a voluntary exchange is approved following Return Quality Control, the amount already paid for the original product is applied toward the price of the replacement product, which may be another colour, variation, or a different model, subject to availability. If the replacement product has the same price, no additional payment is required. If the replacement product costs more, the customer pays only the price difference. If the replacement product costs less, MAISON ADAMO refunds only the price difference.
30. Exchange Delivery Adjustment
The same principle applies to the delivery amount already paid with the original order: it is applied toward the outbound delivery of the replacement item. If the same delivery method is used, no additional delivery charge applies. If a more expensive delivery method is chosen, the customer pays only the difference between the delivery amount already paid and the new delivery charge.
31. Refund Method
Where a return is accepted following Return Quality Control, the applicable refund is processed using the same means of payment used for the original transaction, unless a different method is permitted and agreed in accordance with applicable rules. Any statutory obligation to reimburse the cost of standard delivery, where applicable, is honoured in accordance with applicable law.
32. Genuine Defects, Non-Conformity and Customer-Caused Damage
Natural characteristics of genuine washed leather, as described in Section 4, are not manufacturing defects. Where a piece presents a genuine manufacturing defect or does not otherwise conform to the order, this is handled separately from an ordinary change-of-mind return or exchange — the customer should contact orders@maisonadamo.eu, describing the issue. Nothing in these Terms limits the customer’s mandatory statutory rights regarding the conformity of goods, and MAISON ADAMO does not require the customer to bear return costs that are legally the seller’s responsibility in a genuine defect or non-conformity case.
A genuine manufacturing defect or non-conformity is different from ordinary wear, misuse, accidental damage, third-party damage, improper care or storage, stains, scratches, odours or deformation arising after delivery as a result of use — none of which are treated as a manufacturing defect or non-conformity, and none of which are covered by Return Quality Control under Sections 21–24 above.
33. Applicable Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory right the customer has as a consumer under the law of the country in which the customer is habitually resident, to the extent such law applies to the sale and cannot be derogated from by agreement.
34. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, MAISON ADAMO’s liability in connection with an order is limited to the value of the relevant order. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
35. Applicable Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which the customer is habitually resident, where applicable.
36. Contact
For any question regarding these Terms, contact hello@maisonadamo.eu (general enquiries) or orders@maisonadamo.eu (orders). Full legal seller information is available on the Legal Information page.
